My name WILL be in the program

A few days ago I went in to see one of the counselors in the Humanities college just to make sure everything was in order for me to graduate. I had sent in my application for graduation sometime back in Winter semester, but never heard anything back from them about it.

So I go in and talk to the (rather flamboyant) counselor, and he says,

"Wait. You want to graduate this August?"

"Yes." I responded.

He very theatrically started to shake his head and put his left hand to his forehead in agony, "I'm sooooo sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your name will not be in the program!"

I looked at him with some confusion. "So do I still get to walk?"

"Yes. They will call your name, and you can walk but your name won't be in the program. We can send you a program with your name in it in April 2011. But your name won't be in this program! I'm soo sorry!"

"OK. That will be fine." I was a little disappointed, but at the same time, I just want to be able to participate in the ceremony and to get some photos in my gown with my family.

However, about 20 min. later I received an email from him informing me that my name miraculously will be in the program. Apparently, they decided to print the programs on the following day, not over a week earlier as he had so dramatically informed me.

Cool. My name is going to be in the program for graduation. I can hardly wait. : )
