Homemade Cheesecake and the Best Buttercream Frosting Recipe

I made my very first cheesecake from scratch today! Just tootin' my horn, that's all. : )

I used this recipe for the crust, and I followed this recipe for the cheesecake, with the recommendations from "HEISLORD5". It should be the first comment. I also discovered the perfect buttercream frosting recipe. Simple, but so good:

1/2 stick real butter, softened
1 TBL. heavy cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1-2 cups powdered sugar

Mix the butter, cream and vanilla together until combined. Add in powdered sugar while mixing until it is the consistency you like. Pipe and frost away! : )
(This made just enough frosting to decorate with a border and to do some writing, etc. You may want to double, triple or quadruple it for your needs.)

  2. That's the most beautiful cheesecake I've ever seen! I always get frustrated when I make cheesecake because it's such a long process and mine always turns out UGLY! You've inspired me to try a new recipe, and maybe invest in a spring-form pan:)
