Life after finals...

**Sigh** is right! Squire and I finished our last finals yesterday evening and it feels sooooo good to be done! This semester was an especially hard one for me because of everything I have going on, but I made it! Squire did awesome in all his classes - Med School here we come! : ) Just in case you were wondering, Squire is planning on taking the MCAT in May and then he will start applying in June/July!

You see that rack full of muffins and this shrink wrapper machine?! This will be my life for the next week. Costco bakeries have to stay open 24 hours a day the week before Christmas (and Thanksgiving) in order to be able to produce enough food for all of those hungry shoppers out there (I know their business keeps me in a job, but I can't help but think of some of these shoppers as lazy too - doesn't anyone make their own Holiday dinners from scratch anymore?). I am lucky that I don't have to work the graveyard shifts this time around, but I will be working 3:30pm-12am. I'm trying to have a good attitude about it all, but working and studying so much before Christmas really beats the holiday spirit out of you. We are excited to go visit Squire's family in Page, AZ for Christmas, but unfortunately I will have to work both Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas so our visit will be lightening quick. Maybe next year will be a little less strenuous...

On a lighter note, this is a picture of me in bed, with the most amazing wedding present EVER! My Aunt Sheryl made this quilt for Squire and I for a wedding gift and I just wanted to post some pictures of it. There are cute little flowers sewn in over the whole top (see the pic below) and overall, the quilt is absolutely stunning! We love it so much - Thank you Sheryl!!

I would also like to shout a huge CONGRATS to my big brother Jeremy - he just graduated from BYU-I!!! Way to go Jer - you are gonna be awesome with your life out in the "real" world. : )

That's all we have for now. We are looking forward to the next couple of weeks off from school. The new semester starts January 4th. I'm going to take a sewing class this next semester just for fun. Maybe someday I can be half the quilter/seamstress my Auntie Sheryl is...

  1. That's so fun that you're taking a sewing class next semester! I'm taking a cooking class and a ballet class just for fun too!

  2. Oh I love it, so glad you took a pic of the quilt!
