One Perpetually Unfinished Project: Done

I kind of have this problem, where I start things but then never finish them.

(For example: I have about 4 different blog post drafts going right now, and have decided to ignore them all to write this one instead.)

The project I'm presenting to you is, well, was one of those. I started this double-sided apron at a Relief Society activity over a year ago. (Yeah, I know - not really something to brag about.) But in any case, a broken needle and 4 sewing machines later and. . .TA DA!! It is finished!! A big thanks to Emily Hawken for providing the pattern, which she designed herself.

Side #1:
The pretty feminine side:
Side #2:
The wild jungle side:
Both sides match my kitchen even! The only thing I would change would be to get a softer canvas for the ties, middle band and ruffle bottom - the stuff I chose was very stiff and a bit difficult to work with.

One more shout out another team player. For Christmas, Squire got me this little beauty that I affectionately call my "Spaceship":
It is a Bernina 730 Record and was made in the late 1960's. The thing sews like a dream (even if it is a little less intuitive to sew on, being so mechanical and all.) But, I love it. I can't wait to finish more of my unfinished projects with it!

But, now that I've finished my apron I've got to go break it in and get cookin'! Just thought I'd share. :)

Am I the only one who procrastinates finishing projects this long, or do you do the same too?

  1. Woot! Glad you finally finished it. I have often wondered how many people ended up finishing theirs.
