Our Piano!!!!

So, Squire and I have been casually looking around for a piano since we moved into our little basement. And...We were really fortunate to find a really cheap/nice-sounding little spinet! I am ecstatic about having a piano in my life again. Here are the pics of the eventful moving of the piano into our tiny basement apartment! : ) Squire had a couple friends come over to help move it. I made them breakfast. The scared look on my face for one of the those pics is my reaction to Squire's suggestion that they slide the piano down the steps on skis... : ) You will also see a picture of Squire working on touching up the stain on the piano.

  2. Hey Jami, it's Squire's aunt here... YAY for you! I had to sell my piano when I moved here from VA, back in '96, and Dayne's parents bought me one this past Christmas! Can you imagine going without a piano for 12 years?! I love LOVE playing the piano for the fam before prayers every night, I'm sure you love playing again, too! Glad you didn't have to "cut that in half" like the couch to make it fit!! LOL! Feel free to check out my blog anytime... XOXO Aunt Tricia

  3. Wow! Kudos to Squire and his friends, that was some tough moving. It's so worth it though! Congratulations on your new piano.

  4. Nice piano! You're a good man Squire. I don't think we would have attempted to get a piano into our basement apartment. Looking at all your food posts makes me miss you all the more, Jami. Those were the days... "Hey Ricki! I want to come over and make you dinner tonight."
"Are you sure, Jami? Don't you have like 3 tests tomorrow?"
"Yeah, but you haven't tried this recipe yet. It's really good and we all have to eat, right?"

I should have stopped you! But I really didn't want to. :)

  5. Squire was very wise in this decision to get a piano. Music in your life is great. I am the most musically inept in the family but I really have enjoyed music in the home. I bought your Mother a piano shortly after we were married. That was the 2nd best decision of my life. The first being of course to marry your Mother!

Congrats! You both will really enjoy your piano.

Squire, that looked like fun moving that bad boy into the apartment! Good job...nice to have some buddies to help.

  7. Squire does not play piano at all Aunt Sheryl...but now is a good time for him to learn! : ) I actually bought him a primer level book from D.I. So, I am going to start working with him on it.

  8. Jami - It looks like they shipped your quilt kit on 9/26! At least they billed me for it! I'm excited to make it! Now you just have to wait for me!!.....auntie sheryl

  9. Yay! I'm so excited Aunt Sheryl! It's gonna be my favorite quilt/blanket in the house! (Squire's too!) You always do such an awesome job. : ) P.S. I just got my calling yesterday...I am the Ward Pianist/Organist! They want me to learn to play Organ, so that will be my next project. But, it's pretty cool that that is my calling! I felt like I would get a music calling for several weeks, and it is pretty cool that Squire felt so compelled to find a piano for us. Tender mercies!

  10. Your calling will be great. I quit taking piano lessons when I was 14 and have wondered if I would be able to play still if it weren't for callings I've had in the church. Take advantage of the organ training! Looks like Squire turned out OK! Auntie Sheryl
